Micro Health Insurance (MHI)
Micro Health Insurance (MHI) is a social protection measure for the most destitute and vulnerable households (who lie in the 0-18 poverty band). The objective of the MHI is to protect these families from health shocks that may push them deeper into poverty and hamper their capacity to generate income, hence adversely affecting their socio-economic well-being.
MHI is a product of Micro Health Family Insurance for the poor households covering parents, married couple with children up to 18 years old and the service package includes OPD, day care, diagnostic services, and hospitalization (for more than 24 hours’ stay) and maternity care.
The Peoples’ Poverty Reduction Programme
(PPRP) is a pioneering initiative of the
Government of Sindh (GoS) and the Sindh
Rural Support Organization (SRSO) , to
improve the quality of life of the marginalized
communities that lack basic facilities,
through Social Mobilization and Income Generation.
