Vocational Training Programme (VTP)
One of the key activities under the PPRP Programme is to provide Vocational Skills Training (VTP) to extremely poor community members, especially women that are in the 0-18 category. Purpose of VTP is to design and implement demand driven training programmes that provide open access to the labour market and enhance income generating opportunities, with regards to (self) employment.
The type of training provided will depend on assessments conducted during consultations between the individual, their household and the Village Organization (VO). Numerous studies have pointed out to the benefits and impact that a skilled labour force has, not just at the micro and meso levels, but also at the macro level.
The Peoples’ Poverty Reduction Programme
(PPRP) is a pioneering initiative of the
Government of Sindh (GoS) and the Sindh
Rural Support Organization (SRSO) , to
improve the quality of life of the marginalized
communities that lack basic facilities,
through Social Mobilization and Income Generation.
